Alonso Calderón: Driven by Data and Diversity 

Alonso, originally from Sinaloa, México, has always been driven by data. With a background in programming from high school and biotechnology engineering in college, he has focused his career on data science and analysis. He has worked with clients of all sizes and industries, continually learning how to interpret and communicate data effectively. 

Alonso recalls a time when a former boss made small, dismissive remarks and spoke differently to him compared to other coworkers subcontracted in Mexico. This subtle bias was a minor setback, but Alonso emphasizes his determination and resilience in overcoming these obstacles. 

Why Is Diversity Important in the RevOps Industry?

At Hyperscayle, Alonso found a truly inclusive environment that has significantly contributed to his personal and professional growth. 

"I've heard from friends working for American companies that they are sometimes seen as inferior or not as competent as their American peers. However, this has not been the case at Hyperscayle at all. My opinions and insights are valued and considered," he shares. 

Alonso advises those from diverse backgrounds looking to succeed in the RevOps industry or consulting not to feel lesser because of their differences. 

"Do not be afraid to bring your ideas forward, even if your background and skills differ from those of your peers. You may teach them something they don't know and be open to learning from others as well," he says.

After going to the “dark side” to get his MBA, Ben spent time as a consultant at Bain & Company before getting into the startup scene leading marketing and sales teams.
